Historie

Deze Ferrari 400i is origineel nieuw geleverd in Frankrijk en heeft daar het grootste deel van zijn leven gereden. Ik heb de auto zelf geïmporteerd naar Nederland, waarbij alle benodigde papieren en invoerformaliteiten correct en volledig zijn afgehandeld. De Franse herkomst verklaart mede de fraaie originele kleurstelling en de goed behouden staat van het interieur.
Technische en mechanische staat: uitzonderlijk goed
Onderhuids verkeert deze Ferrari in een opvallend goede staat. De onderzijde is hard, schoon en roestvrij, en ook technisch is deze 400i volledig bij de tijd. Motor, versnellingsbak, ophanging en remmen functioneren zoals het hoort – krachtig, soepel en betrouwbaar. De auto is rijklaar en mechanisch in topvorm. De auto is in Nederland onderhouden bij Italiaanse auto specialist, Italauto. Aantoonbaar goed onderhouden en niet op bezuinigd. Zo zijn recentelijk ook alle wielen opnieuw gelakt en voorzien van nieuwe Michelin TRX banden.
Bij ongeveer 85.000 kilometer is het motorblok volledig gereviseerd door een officiële Ferrari-dealer in Frankrijk. Deze revisie is grondig en professioneel uitgevoerd en wordt ondersteund door een set aantoonbare facturen en documentatie. Dankzij dit werk loopt de motor niet alleen uitstekend, maar is hij ook voorbereid op vele betrouwbare kilometers.
Auto kan bij bezichtiging op de brug, zodat ook de onderkant bekeken kan worden.
Elektronica en interieur: alles werkt, alles klopt
Alle elektronische functies doen het naar behoren — van de elektrisch bedienbare ramen tot de klimaatregeling en dashboardinstrumenten. Dit is zeldzaam bij klassieke Ferrari ’s en zegt veel over de staat en het onderhoudsverleden. Het interieur zelf is verzorgd: het leer is zacht en schoon, zonder noemenswaardige slijtage of verkleuringen voor de leeftijd. De hemelbekleding, vloerbedekking en het houtwerk zijn in bovengemiddeld mooie staat.
Lak en carrosserie: netjes, maar niet perfect
De algehele lak ziet er op het eerste gezicht goed uit: glans, kleur en uitstraling zijn overtuigend. Toch verdient het de vermelding dat er op meerdere plekken kleine roestbubbeltjes zichtbaar zijn – niets structureels, maar cosmetisch zichtbaar. Afhankelijk van persoonlijke voorkeur verdient de auto een deels of volledige nieuwe laklaag, om de visuele staat op het niveau te brengen van de rest van de auto. Zo moet ook de voorbumper strak gemaakt worden.

History
This Ferrari 400i was originally delivered new in France, where it spent most of its life. I personally imported the car into the Netherlands, with all paperwork and import formalities correctly and fully handled. The French origin partly explains the beautiful original color combination and the well-preserved interior condition.
Technical and mechanical condition: exceptionally good
Beneath the surface, this Ferrari is in outstanding shape. The underside is solid, clean, and rust-free, and mechanically the 400i is fully up to date. Engine, gearbox, suspension, and brakes all perform as they should — powerful, smooth, and reliable. The car is road-ready and mechanically in top form. It has been maintained in the Netherlands by Italian car specialist Italauto. Documented maintenance, with no expense spared. All wheels were recently refinished and fitted with new Michelin TRX tires.
At around 85,000 kilometers, the engine was fully rebuilt by an official Ferrari dealer in France. This overhaul was carried out thoroughly and professionally, supported by a set of verifiable invoices and documentation. Thanks to this work, the engine runs excellently and is ready for many reliable kilometers.
The car can be viewed on a lift to inspect the underside.
Electronics and interior: everything works, everything fits
All electronic functions operate properly — from the power windows to the climate control and dashboard instruments. This is rare in classic Ferraris and speaks volumes about the car’s condition and maintenance history. The interior itself is well-kept: the leather is soft and clean, with no significant wear or discoloration for its age. The headliner, carpets, and wood trim are in above-average condition.
Paint and bodywork: neat, but not perfect
At first glance, the paint looks very presentable — shine, color, and overall appearance are convincing. However, small rust bubbles are visible in several areas — nothing structural, but cosmetically noticeable. Depending on personal preference, the car could benefit from a partial or full repaint to bring the visual condition in line with the rest of the car. The front bumper also needs refinishing.
