Regarded by connaisseurs as one of the best GTs of it’s era, being the ultimate evolution of the 512BB, the 512TR is as much a Testarossa as it isn’t one. Yes it carries the name and the spirit of the Testarossa, but without being one. The 512TR was a complete overhaul of the original Testarossa, which was an overhaul of the 512BB. And therefore, it had to be better than the Testarossa, which it did. About everything on the car was reconsidered and changed, with engine and gearbox sitting lower for a better center of gravity, a reworked engine and exhaust, different suspension and brakes, styling changes inside and out, and more. It looked good on paper, and it worked, resulting in 512TR prices staying well over Testarossa prices today, as enthusiasts with the means often prefer having both the looks and the better driving car.
The 512 TR we are presenting in our sales collection is an early 1992 Italian example, still featuring the « Testarossa » badge on the engine cover, and which was sold on 27/03/1992 by Symbol Car S.p.A. in Turin. Having been serviced regularly throughout its life by famous specialists Bonini and Baldini, it recently went through a Ferrari Classiche certification process and is just waiting on final approval. Showing excellent condition throughout, it comes with all its original books, service book and original front trunk Ferrari case included. There is no doubt this car is worth its Classiche certification and will be a great addition to any Ferrari Collection, or any other collection if you ask us. Coming with its original exhaust which was sourced for the Classiche Certification process, it can be sold with a Bartoli Marmitte Inox custom exhaust for an enhanced sound experience, depending on the buyer’s preferences.
